An animal charity in west Norfolk has made an emotional plea to people looking to adopt a dog, saying "please consider one of our oldies".
Over the past few months, RSPCA West Norfolk has seen several litters of puppies in their care, which are now at an age where they are being taken home by adopters.
While they say it has been a "busy and exciting time for everyone at the centre", it is also a time to remember the more mature dogs which are being overlooked.
They have put out an urgent appeal to remind everyone about these "beautiful personalities and their immense need to be back in a loving home".
An RSPCA West Norfolk spokesman said: "Rehoming an older rescue dog is an utterly selfless choice and is not for everyone we know, but we know you special people are out there and we won't give up hope.
"Neither will Lucie, Charlie, Alma, Wally and Wanda.
"None of these dogs asked to be in kennels, unfortunately, the majority of them have been let down by humans in unspeakable ways.
"So it's our job as the good humans to step in and take responsibility in making sure these dogs are loved and cared for for the rest of their days."
This comes after PACT animal sanctuary, in Hingham, put out a plea to home Zuka, an older pooch who is desperate for a new home after struggling in kennels.
Zuka, a German shepherd ridgeback cross, is searching for a new home after one of his owners died and the other had to go into a care home.
The west Norfolk rehoming centre in Tilney All Saints, near King's Lynn, spoke earlier in the year of how the rising cost of living is "having a big impact now" as they are at capacity with the number of pets they can take in.
