A jury has heard the harrowing 999 call from a wardrobe where a man was hiding from a father and son who are accused of murdering him in a brutal attack.
Matthew Rodwell, 39, had climbed into the cupboard at the home of his partner Kerry Peckham when her son Riley and estranged husband Wayne arrived at the property.
Norwich Crown Court has heard Mr Rodwell died after being attacked, once the pair forced their way into the house, on Bulrush Avenue, Downham Market, on January 23 last year.
Wayne Peckham, 49, and his son Riley Peckham, 23, have gone on trial accused of the murder of Mr Rodwell, who had been in a relationship with Mrs Peckham at the time.
On Tuesday (February 14) the jury of seven men and five women heard the 999 call made by Mr Rodwell to police after the two accused of his murder got into Mrs Peckham's home.
During the emergency call, which lasted almost 18 minutes, Mr Rodwell told the call handler that Wayne and Riley Peckham, were downstairs "in the house".
He told the handler he had "run upstairs" and was "hiding" although his girlfriend was downstairs.
Mr Rodwell told them he could hear "shouting" and "raised voices".
He said: "Can you please hurry up and get them out of the house.
"They've threatened my life before."
A frantic Mr Rodwell told the handler "they're upstairs" before stating that he thought they had gone.
He was asked if could get to his girlfriend downstairs.
Mr Rodwell said he could not stating: "I can't go down, they will kill me".
He said: "They've threatened to beat me up before."
Mr Rodwell said Wayne Peckham had been to the house earlier in the day, when he moved security cameras.
He asked police to "hurry up".
He was told "officers will be with you" as soon as possible.
But Mr Rodwell, who resorted to whispering during the call, said "they're coming up the stairs again".
He again asks: "How long are these officers going to be?"
The call handler says police were "on an emergency response" and would be with him "as quickly as they can".
The jury could then hear shouting and screaming as well as a commotion over the next few minutes.
On finding Mr Rodwell, Riley said "get off the phone" to which the victim replies: "The police are coming."
Riley states: "You are going to die, you're going to die."
Mr Rodwell says: "Police are on their way."
Mrs Peckham can be heard in the background shouting "no" and does so on several occasions during the call.
Screaming is also heard, while Mr Rodwell states: "Please, no."
Mrs Peckham shouts "let go of him" as Mr Rodwell says "let go of me".
Riley is heard to say: "It's your fault this happened."
There is more screaming from Mrs Peckham and banging can also be heard during the call.
Wayne Peckham, of Manby Close, Hilgay, denies murder as well as assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Mrs Peckham on January 23 last year.
He has also denied two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and another offence of assault by beating in relation to an earlier incident in Downham Market on December 4, 2021.
Riley Peckham, also of Manby Close, Hilgay, denies murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the same December incident.
The trial continues.
