An all-new sports pavilion and nursery are a step closer to becoming a reality after planning was approved for the site.

The Jubilee Centre - which will be built as part of the 350-home St Giles Park housing development in Cringleford - was approved in December with the hunt now on to find a contractor to bring the plans to life.

Originally earmarked to be open by the end of 2023, it is now hoped the facility will open by April 2024.

Sonya Blythe, clerk of Cringleford Parish Council, said: "We haven't had any bids in yet but it's a step in the right direction and it's great to see it moving.

"It's great to see the facility slowly coming to fruition.

"The next stage is going to be appointing the contractor which will be handled by Big Sky Living - but it will be with us to make the final decision."

She added that the community asset is something the council is welcoming, which is why the project will be paid for out of the council's Community Infrastructure Levy.
