A much-loved village pub at the heart of the community has started the year in style with a modern refurbishment and fresh menu.
The White Hart in Rockland All Saints, near Attleborough, was closed for the whole of January while significant changes were made to the interior.
This has included a bar extension, a grey and white colour scheme, with new marble-effect tables still to be delivered, and the internal wall has been taken down separating the dining room and main bar to open it up.
The pub has now reopened to the public, who have been kept updated on the refurb with pictures on social media.
Couple Dave and Jayne Thomas and their son Joe bought the pub in April 2017 from the previous owners and they have lived in the village for 30 years.
Joe, 32, said: "We went to the pub on a regular basis so we saw it as a good opportunity to keep it going, but there was a lot of work to do when we took it on."
It has become a real community gem, with a champion darts team and an event field with a fire pit and bar, which was previously a bowling green, behind the beer garden.
They are hoping to get a licence to hold wedding ceremonies in the future.
Speaking about the refurbishment, Joe said: "I think in order to make money you have to spend money and even though our electricity bills have tripled since we originally took it on, we have great support in the village and surrounding areas."
Among the events planned this month include showing the Six Nations and the Little Ellingham Tractor Rally on Sunday, February 12.
Children under 12 also eat free with a paying adult over the half-term holiday.
There is a refreshed menu with new dishes including steak hoagie baguettes and loaded fries and Sunday carveries are back too.
The drinks menu features an ever-rotating selection of ales and a huge selection of gins.
The White Hart is open Wednesday and Thursday 4pm-11pm, Friday 3pm-11pm, Saturday 12noon-11pm and Sunday 12noon-8pm.
