Here are seven great independent places to grab a cocktail in the city.

1. Oliver's 

Where: 152a Unthank Road, Norwich, NR2 2RS

This cosy NR2 bar is simply perfect for anything - from a catch-up with friends, to date nights or a relaxing post-work drink.

Offering lots of unique cocktails and board games while vinyl music plays, Oliver's bar is so warm, welcoming and friendly that you will feel right at home.

It also puts on events including live music and a quiz on Wednesday nights.

2. Doxi

Where: 4 St. Gregory's Alley, Norwich, NR2 1ER

Doxi can be found in Alchemista in St Gregory's from 5pm Wednesday to Sunday.

Doxi offers a range of cocktail creations along with craft beers and spirits from Norfolk breweries and a selection of wines from around the world.

3. Silhouette

Where: Unit 5, Castle Quarter Timber Hill entrance, Norwich, NR1 3DD

Just opened, Silhouette offers a fun, bright, party night out.

Get your selfie on a cocktail or have a chance at winning big on a scratchcard in your drink - the new cocktail bar and restaurant is a social media dream with extravagant drinks and eye-catching decor. 

It has the wow factor before customers even step through the door, with strings of bright pink cherry blossom hanging across the entrance.

4. Tipsy Jar

Where: 8 Redwell Street, Norwich, NR2 4SN

This is a pandemic success story as the business began in April 2020 as a cocktail delivery business.

Cocktail jars are brought to customers with ice already inside and they just need to shake and add the garnish at home or in the bar.

Bespoke cocktails, designed by its mixologists include unique homemade syrups and infusions.

5. Hawthorns

Where: 2-4 St Benedicts Street, Norwich, NR2 4AG

Sat on the corner of St Benedicts Street, this classy cocktail destination is one everyone will enjoy, boasting "bespoke and unusual cocktails".

Dimly lit and relaxing with a cosy atmosphere, this is a very romantic setting.

6. Chambers Cocktail Company

Where: 12-14 Wensum Street, Norwich, NR3 1HY

Chambers Cocktail Company is a "destination city bar" that offers "high quality, new and interesting cocktails".

It is a relaxed, classy cocktail bar with lots of cocktail options to choose from.

It offers two cocktails for £12 and the deal runs from Wednesday to Saturday between 4pm and 7pm.

There is a list of around 12 homemade cocktails which change depending on the season.

7. Mr Postles' Apothecary

Where: 2 Upper King Street, NR3 1HA, Norwich

"Roasts are out, cocktails are in" at Mr Postles Apothecary.

Its menu of "potions" made by "cocktail chemists", includes the usual favourites as well as its own creations.

This is a unique place to go for a tipple with a twist.
