It has been a bumper week for a rural Norfolk gastropub, which has been named one of the top 100 places to eat in the UK twice.
It has just been announced that Sculthorpe Mill, near Fakenham, has ranked at number 51 in the coveted Estrella Damm list of the top 100 gastropubs in the UK for 2023.
The rankings of the final 50 will be announced at a ceremony on January 23 at the Unruly Pig in Suffolk, which was the 2022 champion.
The Norfolk spots in the top 50 are The White Horse in Brancaster, The Gunton Arms and The Duck Inn in Stanhoe.
The Suffield Arms in north Norfolk was also announced last week at number 93 and The Brisley Bell, near Dereham, was at 85.
This week, Sculthorpe Mill also featured in the SquareMeal Top 100 Restaurants in the UK list.
Since opening in July 2021, Siobhan and Caitriona Peyton’s 18th Century watermill has become a firm favorite with locals and holidaymakers and it boasts seven bedrooms too.
Siobhan Peyton said: "We are over the moon and this is a credit to our committed team, the steadfast vision of our chef Elliot Ketley and the loyalty of our fantastic customers.”
