A mobile woodfired pizza business born out of lockdown will be settling into new permanent premises soon.

Chesca's will be opening at the Post Office Tea Room in Reedham on Fridays and Saturdays from March 3.

Francesca Cornish Hollingsworth, from Reedham, originally opened the pizza kitchen in March 2020, after purchasing a caravan for £200.

She will now partner with Julia at the tea rooms, helping to "share costs in these times", offering seating inside and outside, as well as takeaways and deliveries from their outside pizza oven.

The 33-year-old said: "I had a bee in my bonnet about making something that felt like I'd gone out to eat. I had a real fire in my belly."

Everything is homemade and sourced locally with low food miles, using The Tacons farmshop in Rollesby, Jim's butchers in Great Yarmouth and eggs from Freethorpe. Mrs Cornish Hollingsworth even grows her own herbs.

Toppings of the summer menu include caramelised fresh pineapple, homemade red onion marmalade, Marsh Pig truffle salami, local asparagus, Chesca's Fire Honey, black garlic drizzle and many more mouth-watering treats.

The opening night will see pizza prices reduced, new summer specials, and free champers for the first customers.

Offering square pizzas, Chesca's proudly "fill the box", saying there is "a lot of wasted space with a circular pizza!".

Their "menu with integrity" will be offering pizzas at around £10.

Mrs Cornish Hollingsworth's husband is a pastry chef, who will have some sweet treats on offer, as well as his homemade Top Shelf Ice Cream which has previously flown off the shelves at the tea rooms.

The mother-of-two said "We are really, really excited. It is so nice to be part of a village community and the village support has been invaluable."
