A dark page from Norfolk's past will soon be remembered on national television.

RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre near Wicken Green, is set to appear on the BBC One show Bargain Hunt on Monday, January 30.

The episode will mark the 70th anniversary of the deadly North Sea floods of February 1, 1953.

The heritage centre exhibits items relating to the floods, including George Medals awarded to US Air Force personnel Freeman Kilpatrick and Reis Leming after they saved countless lives.

In the episode, Ian Brown, the centre's curator, and historian Neil Storey will talk about the disaster with presenter and auctioneer, Charlie Ross.

The floods claimed the lives of 100 people in Norfolk, and 2,551 around the North Sea.

Filming took place in October last year.

The show will go to air at 12.15pm.

The centre will also take part in an official commemoration of the floods in Hunstanton on January 29.
