From an old railway line to coastal views, these Norfolk cafés tick the boxes for both location and top-notch food and drink.

1. North Sea Coffee Co, Cromer 

Where: Promenade, Cromer, NR27 9EX

This small and independent coffee bar along the promenade looks out towards the North Sea and Cromer Pier.

It serves freshly-roasted specialty coffees and a small selection of pastries and cakes.

2. The Station Café, Reepham 

Where: Station Road, Reepham, NR10 4LJ

The Station Café is next to a disused railway line along the Marriott's Way and it is particularly popular with cyclists and those walking in the area.

On offer are full English breakfasts, warm ciabattas, burgers, topped skin-on fries and much more.

3. Sarnies by the Sea, Happisburgh 

Where: Beach Road, Happisburgh, NR12 0PP

Just a stone's throw from the beach and historic Happisburgh Lighthouse, which was built in 1790, is the charming Sarnies by the Sea.

It will reopen for the 2023 season in April and offers delicious cakes and sandwiches to enjoy while taking a trip to the seaside.

4. Seal View, Winterton

Where: Car Park, Beach Road, Winterton-on-Sea, NR29 4AJ

A warm welcome is guaranteed at this lovely café, which opened in October 2022 and is the perfect place for a pitstop after seeing the seals - with record numbers spotted this year.

From breakfast baps and gourmet burgers to Yorkshire puddings filled with all of the trimmings, there is plenty to choose from on the menu.

5. Bread Source at The Refectory Café, Norwich 

Where: Norwich Cathedral, The Close, NR1 4DH

The Norwich bakery Bread Source is the new operator of The Refectory Café at Norwich Cathedral after taking over from Jarrold.

Enjoy a coffee with a locally-made pastry or roll while looking out onto the Cathedral grounds.

6. The Lighthouse Café, Hunstanton 

Where: Lighthouse Close, Hunstanton, PE36 6EL

This charming café is located on the cliff tops near the Old Lighthouse and during this quieter season it is open from 9am until 4pm on weekends only. 

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, so it is perfect for a visit after a winter walk, and the menu ranges from cakes to all-day breakfasts.

7. OB Café, Old Buckenham 

Where: Old Buckenham Country Park, Doe Lane, Old Buckenham NR17 1PP

The café at Old Buckenham Country Park reopens for 2023 from 9am on March 3 and there are street food trucks there at events throughout the season. 

The café is set on the decking overlooking the lake, with a heated indoor area too, and you can enjoy delicious coffee and cakes.
