A café owner has been overwhelmed by support after reopening following a nine-month closure due to a crash injury and cancer scare.

Contrast Café in Watton welcomed customers back on Saturday, January 14, with people eager to enjoy one of its many traditional Portuguese dishes once again.

Owner Tina Cruz, 50, was forced to close in April 2022 after she suffered a serious injury in a crash and a month later, she was diagnosed with stage-four cancer.

She has now reopened the café while still recuperating from cancer treatment due to being unable to afford to have the doors closed any longer.

She said: "It is so lovely to be open again, it feels amazing.

"Saturday was a really good day and it was great to have our customers back.

"By the end of it, I felt very tired which is my body telling me to take it slow but seeing the place busy again was brilliant."
