Drivers are being told by police to avoid the area and there are diversions in place.
There is a police cordon at either end of the road, which is expected to remain closed for some time.
An air ambulance was seen over the bypass at around 7am this morning (January 18).
The fast stretch of road remains icy following a hard frost overnight amid subzero temperatures.
Ian James, 75, has lived in the area since 2005 and says he has never seen a crash here before.
He said: "I got up at about 7.30am and could hear an air ambulance. When I went out to walk my dog, I could see two air ambulances."
Just three miles away there was another crash at 8am in Wereham and West Dereham.
The closure of the A134 Lynn Road after the crash is causing more traffic in the area.
