A city youngster with an incurable brain tumour has died at the age of eight.
Last month Amber Sheehy and her family celebrated what they knew would be their last Christmas with her - one they were determined to make the best one ever.
Amber was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour in April 2019 at the age of five after she started having headaches and being sick in the mornings.
In June 2021 Amber was able to ring the celebratory bell, marking the end of her treatment.
But sadly in April 2022 the Sheehy's received the devastating news that her cancer had returned – and this time was inoperable.
In a post to Amber's Army on Facebook, her family confirmed that Amber passed away peacefully at 11pm on Saturday, January 14.
She died an hour before her ninth birthday with her parents Amanda and Jon by her side.
On social media, her family said: "She had no pain or discomfort and this was all we could have hoped for.
"Amber passed away with dignity after fighting a battle she couldn't win.
"We were truly blessed with our little girl and the extra time we got with her, now she has gone and went with dignity and pride, we just need to come to terms with this," the Sheehy family said.
Those who wish to leave floral tributes in Amber's memory are asked to leave them on the grass outside their Horsford home to be admired.
This summer, Amber - a Canaries superfan - was named Norwich City Football Club's fan of the season and the club's Community Hero back in May.
Norwich City said following her passing: "All at Norwich City are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of last year's fan of the season, Amber Sheehy.
