An aviation author is set to take people on flights of fact, fancy and futility by exploring the development of flight through centuries of myth, legend and reality.
Ian McLachlan - who is resident historian for a series of programmes that continue to run on Sky's History Channel - is set to start a series of talks in Southwold.
Mr McLachlan, from Oulton Broad in Lowestoft, is the series historian for 'History's Greatest Aircraft', and next week he will launch a series of talks in Southwold for a group called Sole Bay Lifelong Learning.
Entitled Airs And Graces, the talks feature "fascinating human-interest accounts" plus "episodes from regional aviation history".
Mr McLachlan added: "Of local interest, I’ll be relating the 1785 story of Norfolk’s Major Money’s ballooning misadventures plus a local MP who fearfully took to the heavens and ended up going for a swim."
The talks start at 2pm on Wednesday, January 18 at the Southwold Arts Centre in St Edmunds Hall, Southwold.
