A town's traditional fish and chip shop has reopened with a new owner who is frying up a storm.

Britannia Fish Bar opened its doors in Fakenham's Bridge Street on Tuesday (January 10).

It is owned by Guy Kaba who has taken over the business, formerly known as Golden Fish & Chips.

The 36-year-old said it had always been his dream to run his own chippy.

"I have about 15 years of experience. I used to help my friend run a fish and chip shop in Norwich," he said.

"But I have been saving my money for years so one day I could open my own.

"So when this shop became available in Fakenham, I couldn't miss the opportunity."

From cod and chips to battered sausage, Mr Kaba, from Norwich, says they will be serving up all of the usual favourites - using all fresh ingredients - and he hopes to add more to the menu in the future and he is "open to requests" from his customers.

He added: "So far it has been really good. Everyone has been very excited to see us open.

"It's a great feeling to be serving my own customers and I'm really grateful for the support.

"Everyone has been very welcoming."
