A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at her home in Wisbech.
Police were called by the ambulance service to a bungalow in Beechwood Road after a 47-year-old woman's body was discovered at 6.30am yesterday (January 10).
Cambridgeshire Police believe the woman was killed between 10pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.
The force has said it is thought to be an isolated incident and no arrests have been made yet.
Police are conducting extra patrols in the area following the incident.
Detective Inspector Lee Martin, from the Major Crime Unit, said: “We are following several leads and carrying out enquiries to find those responsible, however no arrests have yet been made.
“I would appeal to anyone with any information to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.
"I understand this is likely to be concerning to local people but we do believe it to be an isolated incident and we have extra patrols in the area today who are there for people to speak to if they wish".
A cordon was put in place around the home after the woman's body was discovered yesterday.
Officers said the death was being treated as "unexplained" at the time.
Anyone with information can report it online via Cambridgeshire Police's website or alternatively call 101 quoting Operation Aerospace.
