The inquest into the death of a Norwich man has been adjourned as a murder investigation continues more than a year after he died.
The body of 63-year-old Leslie Smith was found inside his Suffolk Square flat on October 17, 2021.
His death was initially treated as unexplained until a post-mortem examination revealed he may have suffered an injury.
Police launched a murder inquiry and have been working to establish the circumstances surrounding Mr Smith’s death.
At a hearing at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Monday (January 9) his inquest was adjourned until April 12.
Jacqueline Lake, the senior coroner for Norfolk, said the inquest was unable to proceed as the death was “still being investigated”.
Two people, a 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, were previously arrested on suspicion of murder but released under investigation.
As part of the probe police have previously released CCTV footage showing a man carrying a backpack walking in Park Lane, off Earlham Road, on October 5, 2021 - before the body was found - who they said they believe could be a key witness.
