A new list highlighting some of the best value breaks in the UK includes a collection of seaside cottages in Norfolk.

Winterton Cottages, located to the east of the county, features in a round-up by The Guardian of 10 bargain getaways in the UK in 2023. 

It is a collection of around 40 holiday homes in the "unspoilt village" of Winterton-on-Sea and properties range from fisherman’s cottages for two to large houses for groups.

Writer Rachel Dixon said: "The two Old Chapel Cottages were converted from a Methodist church built in 1812 and sleep four from £553 a week.

"The Old Village Shop is now a three-bedroom house – complete with a replica shop window – close to the sand dunes, cafe, fish and chip shop and pub. It sleeps six from £735 a week."

While the price is still high, it features in the article as it is a "far cry from the expensive hotspots further north".
