Bakery chain Greggs is planning to build a new drive-through outlet on the outskirts of Norwich.
The firm has submitted an application to open a branch on the Broadland Gate Business Park at Postwick, near the Northern Distributor Road.
If the bid is approved, the site would be built on an unused plot of land between the Lidl supermarket and McDonald's restaurant.
Greggs already has more than 20 stores in Norfolk, including nine in the Norwich area.
The application for the new branch has been submitted to Broadland District Council (BDC) by two local companies on behalf of the bakery chain.
The companies say the plans will bring 19 full and part-time jobs in addition to those created during the construction phase.
A planning statement submitted to BDC said: “The proposal for a new unit offering food and drinks along with an associated drive-thru is the most appropriate and efficient use of the site and is in general accordance with the development plan and planning history of the site.
"The proposal represents the only feasible means by which to deliver investment and jobs (whilst also supporting others) in this location.”
A decision on the application is expected to be made in due course.
