A pair of teetotallers who recently set up their own boxing gym are offering a special deal for others who are aiming to give up alcohol.
Darren Flatt and Danny McIntosh, who opened Box Lively in November, are offering anyone taking part in ‘Dry January’ a half-price membership for the year and a free pair of boxing gloves.
Mr Flatt said they both used to drink alcohol, before realising it was more of a hindrance than a help.
He added: “I’m a big believer that alcohol caps your potential and caps your outcomes, and that’s the less serious side of it.
“It gets to a point where you realise how much of your life can be taken away by what is a socially acceptable habit. But how much will you really remember, and how much value was there in it?
“Sometimes you need to break a habit, but that can be hard unless you focus on something different.”
The deal means membership at the Gaymers Way gym is priced at £29.99 a month for adults instead of £59.99.
