A Norwich restaurant is quite literally on fire as it has just been named one of the UK's 'up-and-coming gems' for 2023.
Brix and Bones is located above Gonzo's Tea Room in London Street, with both owned by dynamic sibling duo Brad and Mike Baxter.
The former launched as an open-fire restaurant in early 2022 and with talented chef George Wood at the helm, it was added to The Good Food Guide in the summer.
Guide writer Elizabeth Carter has now included it in her round-up of 14 under-the-radar eateries in the UK for 2023.
Brix and Bones is praised for its "engaging, informed team" and "powerful, expert, generous" open-fire cooking.
She also praises the sharing dishes, including the focaccia with bone-marow butter and raspberry compote, and steaks ordered by weight, chops and whole fish which are "licked with flame".
Mr Wood was previously at the helm of London barbecue restaurant Temper Soho and the menu is inspired by his travels to places such as Japan and Sri Lanka.
