All traditions went out the window for one Norfolk couple this Christmas as they cooked up a festive feast on the beach.
Niki and Lewis Senior packed up a camping stove and some pans from the kitchen and headed to Trimingham beach on Christmas Day.
The couple had planned their alternative celebrations weeks in advance but on December 25 their village of Garvestone was hit with a five-hour power cut.
So Mrs Senior, 51, said they were relieved that they had other plans.
She said: "We are actually Druids so we celebrate Yule on December 21, but we always do a little something on Christmas Day.
"So we took our camping stove and pans and headed to Trimingham beach - which is a special place for us."
The couple cooked up a Christmas meal consisting of vegetarian sausages, broccoli, sweet potatoes, onion chutney, fried onions and mint sauce.
They also brought along a lemon drizzle cake with tea.
Ms Senior added: "Quite a few people came up to us and I didn’t expect that.
"They wished us a Merry Christmas and they loved the idea
"It was a lovely escape."
