A man was arrested after allegedly wielding butcher's knives through a Suffolk coastal town.

At 8.30pm on Boxing Day (December 26), a 50-year-old man was found wandering the streets in north Lowestoft with two butcher's knives.

Lowestoft police sent taser units to St Peter’s Street and arrested the man on the suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place.

He was taken to Great Yarmouth police station for questioning and released on bail pending further enquiries.

No injuries were sustained.
