It was more of a wet Christmas rather than a white one as soggy siblings and their families took their seats for Norwich's Xmas Pop Party.
But before even the droplets of rain had dried from the hair and faces of those who had descended on St Andrew's Hall on Friday (December 23), the wettest time of the year magically turned into the most wonderful time of the year.
Joe Ringer and his merry band of men and women - who are behind the Halloween hit that is The Monster Club - put on a festive cracker of a show.
Hosted by the brilliantly bubbly Pip Randelle there was live music, singing, dancing and comedy wrapped up in this tinsel-tied treat of a production which is this time of year is simply made for.
People have worked all year to have a bit of time with their families and want to sing, laugh and be happy together - and this joyful extravaganza achieves just that.
If it was a seasonal sing-a-long you wanted, Joe, the band and the Xmas Pop Party Angels were there to deliver just that - and all the traditional trimmings.
Like a juke box stuck in every December there has ever been, they belted out Christmas classics like Step Into Christmas, Last Christmas and Walking in the Air.
There was also some classic Cliff Richard, hits from the children's film favourite Frozen and of course everyone's favourite Christmas hit (well, certainly mine!) Fairytale of New York.
There was also juggling and comedy with a slapstick present-wrapping segment, the Grinch trying to steal Christmas and an alternative musical take on the 12 days of Christmas.
Add to that some water pistol antics - which included some of the crowd getting soaked again - and also a giant snowball which was launched into the audience.
There was even a visit from the jolly, bearded, red-suit wearing gift giver himself.
Santa appeared towards the end to excited screams as fake snow was fired into the air and the evening ended with festive favourite I'm dreaming of a White Christmas.
It was a feel-good family show which would surely even put a smile on the face of Ebenezer Scrooge and left us all wishing it could be Christmas every day.
The show runs at St Andrew's Hall, Norwich, today (Saturday, December 24) at 10am and 1pm.
