Part of a Norfolk village road is set to be closed for almost a month in the new year.

Work will begin in Church Lane, Sparham, on Monday, January 9, 2023, to improve historic drainage issues in the area and is expected to last for four weeks.

The scheme will involve installing additional drains as well as maintaining the nearby pond, verge, and culvert in the areas.

During the project a road closure will be in place along Church Lane from the junction with Main Road for about 100m northwards for the duration of the works.

There will be a signed diversion for the duration of the works.

A lane closure in Main Road will be active outside the junction with Church Lane, during the first, third and fourth week of the works.

During this time the bus stops near Church Lane will also be suspended.

The work, which will cost £50,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.
