A 23-year-old man has been jailed for a series of abusive incidents which included "scratching, biting and pulling hair".

Tom Jacklin, of Churchill Road, Gorefield, near Wisbech, was put behind bars after being found guilty of controlling and coercive behaviour, assault by penetration and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

After appearing before Norwich Crown Court on Monday (December 19), he has been jailed for seven years.

Jacklin, who had pleaded guilty to all counts, will also be subject to a restraining order and ordered to pay £170.

This week's sentence follows a series of incidents that happened in 2019 and 2020.

Jacklin would be physically and emotionally abusive to his victim, often becoming violent by scratching, biting and pulling hair.

Jacklin was arrested and taken to King's Lynn Police Station where he was questioned and later charged.

Investigating officer DC Gemma Garner said: "Jacklin is a violent and manipulative offender who subjected his victim to both physical and mental abuse.

"It is pleasing he's behind bars where he will be unable to harm anyone else."
