From eating challenges to theme park visits, you might be surprised to hear that Norfolk has been the backdrop of significant hits on YouTube during 2022.

Here are five of the most viral videos featuring the county from the past 12 months.

1. YouTuber smashes 100oz steak challenge

During the summer, YouTube star Beard Meats Food visited Swaffham to try his hand at The White Hart's 100oz steak challenge.

Adam Moran, better known as Beard Meats Food, is one of the UK's biggest competitive eaters and travels the country looking to complete some of the largest eating challenges around.

He was faced with the prospect of eating a 100oz prime locally sourced rump steak with chips, onion rings, mushrooms and tomatoes in under an hour.

The challenge had never been completed individually before but Moran finished it in 38 minutes.

The video has been viewed more than three and a half million times.

2. Visiting best rated holiday park in the UK

Potters Resorts, located in Hopton, was recognised as the winner of a Which? survey of Britain's best holiday parks earlier this year.

The park achieved a customer score of 88pc following a survey of more than 2,200 stays - scoring five stars out of five in every category and beating the likes of Center Parcs and Butlin's to the top spot.

In August, Walk With Me Tim who has 130,000 subscribers, filmed a YouTube video and vlogged his experience of the hotel which was seen more than 260,000 times.

3. Giant dominoes fall in Norwich

 

Eastern Daily Press: 7,500 dominoes lined the streets of Norwich for a giant domino topple to kick off the 2022 Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

In May, 7,500 aerated concrete dominoes were toppled to celebrate the launch of the 250th Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

Crowds gathered at Anglia Square, St Andrews, Haymarket, outside Jarrold and The Forum with hundreds more lining the route.

The dominoes stretched between Anglia Square and The Forum in Norwich, with some even going through homes and buildings.

More than 124,000 people watched BBC News's YouTube video which showed city folk enjoying the artistic spectacle.

4. American couple's first thoughts about Norfolk

Perhaps one of the more surprising entries are these YouTube creators who reacted to visiting Norfolk.

The Natasha and Debbie Show are a US-based couple who share their reactions to a range of different subjects.

The duo described Norfolk as "blowing their minds".

They said: "We have to admit we weren't expecting ANYTHING like what we saw here.

"This place blew our minds and we are still recovering. So absolutely gorgeous.

"And just about everything you could possibly want all in one area."

Places such as Hunstanton, Great Yarmouth and Wells all feature in the video which has been viewed 70,000 times on YouTube.

5. Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach Vlog

Rollercoaster enthusiast Theme Park Worldwide featured Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in a video from August.

The YouTuber visits theme parks across the world and gave his thoughts on the park.

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach was founded in 1909 and is home to one of only two wooden rollercoasters left standing in the UK.

The video has been watched 41,000 times on YouTube.
