A village on the Norfolk and Suffolk border saw temperatures plummet to -6.6C last night.
Santon Downham, located just a few miles from Thetford, recorded sub-zero temperatures on Friday making it the coldest December night in the region since 2016.
It was also the overall coldest night recorded in the region since February 2021.
And the freezing conditions are expected to continue this morning (December 10) in parts of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Meteorologist Dan Holley tweeted that parts of the region will see freezing fog.
It comes after the Met Office issued a warning for ice which was in place until 12pm on December 9.
Earlier this week the UK Health and Security Agency and the Met Office also issued warnings for severe cold weather.
The cold snap is expected to last for several days into next week, with temperatures struggling to get above freezing, according to the Met Office.
Arctic winds will bring sub-zero temperatures as low as -7C causing widespread overnight frosts.
Large areas of the country have been warned to expect severe conditions during the weekend.
