From stocking fillers for the foodie in your life, to goodies for your Boxing Day buffet, the Food, Drink and Gift Market at Holkham Hall is a must-visit for all things epicurean.

Here you’ll also find a range of unique gifts for that someone special – from handmade home accessories to funky Christmas decorations, personalised jewellery and much more.

To add to the festive spirit there will be live music from Fakenham Town Band and Nelson’s Shantymen on both days.

And refuel at the Courtyard Café with one of their glorious slabs of cake or tuck into waffles, wood-fired pizza, loaded fries, crispy duck wraps and much more at the street food court.

To whet your appetite, here are just a few of the local producers who will be setting out their stalls.

1. Norton’s Dairy

This family farm at Frettenham makes cream cheeses in a variety of flavours, including sweet apricots, bold chilli, black pepper and chive and its award-winning Norfolk lavender variety. Milk from its herd of Swiss Brown cows is perfect for cheese making, because it’s high in butterfat and protein.

2. Leigh's Bees

Leigh Goodsell has loved bees since he was young and he bought his first hive by saving up his pocket money.

Leigh’s Bees’s honey is unblended to retain their own unique tastes, and the apiaries are carefully placed to enable bees to forage a specific range of nectar, such as sea lavender from the north Norfolk saltmarshes or the ivy-clad hedgerows at Narford.

3. Cobble Hill Winery

Eastern Daily Press:

This vineyard and winery based near Burnham Market will be showcasing its locally grown and produced white, rose and sparkling wines.

The Perowne family planted their first grapes in 2016, and earlier this year its 2019 sparkling rose was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2022 Wines of Great Britain National Awards.

4. Bread Source

Eastern Daily Press:

Stock up for the weekend with freshly hand-made artisan bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and savouries from this growing Norwich-based bakery.

5. Mindful Mixology

Eastern Daily Press:

Reepham-based Mindful Mixology creates award-winning bottled cocktails ready to pour and serve, made with less sugar and featuring local ingredients.

The Grapefruit Margarita, Lychee Martini and (our personal favourite) the Salted Coconut Espresso Martini are all Great Taste Award winners - as is their alcohol-free Grapefruit Margarita. They were recently recommended on Davina McCall's podcast - Making The Cut.

6. Bucket List

Eastern Daily Press:

Bucket List’s loaded chips come smothered with all sorts of toppings. They’re one of the street food vendors who will be pitching up at Holkham this weekend – let's hope their seasonal special, The Merry Bucket, is on the menu. Roast turkey gravy, pigs out of blankets, cranberry, mozzarella, crispy onions and aioli, it’s Christmas in a, well, bucket.

7. WhataHoot

Eastern Daily Press:

Owned and run by husband-and-wife team Jason and Nicky Crown, King’s Lynn-based distillery WhataHoot creates locally-inspired gins and vodkas, including their Signature Dry Gin, which features flavours of samphire and lavender. They also make Tawny Orange Gin, Navy Strength Gin and Signature V Vodka.

And the name? It comes from Jason and Nicky’s lifelong love of barn owls.

8. Simply Cake Co

Eastern Daily Press:

Susanna Lemon launched Simply Cake Co in west Norfolk in 2017 with one aim: to get people eating better cakes. And now her letterbox brownies and cakes spread joy right across the country.

Her bakes are made with love in King’s Lynn from the best quality ingredients: proper Belgian chocolate, local free-range eggs and proper butter, making them super indulgent – and they’re all gluten free.

This year’s festive bakes include Toblerone brownies, snowy rocky road, Bailey’s brownies and ginger millionaire's shortbread.

9. Duration Brewing

Eastern Daily Press:

Based at West Acre in the Nar Valley, Bates and Miranda are building a destination farmhouse brewery Norfolk Farm House Brewery – and their beers are winning plaudits across the brewing industry.

10. Staithe Smokehouse

Bringing a taste of the coast to the market, Staithe Smokehouse, from just down the road in Brancaster Staithe, will be serving up smoked salmon, haddock, crevettes and prawns, kiln roasted salmon and lots of other delicious local smoked fish and scallops.

11. Tudor Bakehouse

Traditional family bakers Tudor Bakehouse, which has four bakeries in Norfolk and Suffolk, will be fully stocked with festive favourites including warm mince pies, cheese straws and shortbread.
