A Norfolk church is creating a nativity village and putting on a musical to tell the real Christmas story.

Christmas Alive is an ambitious project by the Fountain Of Life church at Ashill, near Watton.

People will be able to wander through the atmospheric village streets and sample the sights, sounds and smells of ancient Bethlehem.

Eastern Daily Press:

There will be characters in authentic costumes as well as live animals plus food tasting stalls, children's craft activities, selfie-booth, fire pits, mulled wine and mince pies, games, music and traditional dancing.

The nativity village will be open from 4.30-7pm on Saturday December 10 and Sunday December 11.

On the same days at 4pm and 7pm there will be performances of the Storyteller.

Eastern Daily Press:

The Storyteller lives alongside ordinary, everyday folk, each with their own unique and peculiar nature.

Agatha Crumb the baker’s wife, frightened of everything. Amos the instrument maker carries the heavy burden of grief. Adriel the shepherd boy whose voice has been robbed by regret.

Everyone has a story, and as he waits for a promise to be fulfilled, the Storyteller generously pours out stories of hope and help to overcome. Tantalizing tales of life, including revolting royals, wayward woollies, shipwrecks and black holes.

Eastern Daily Press:

And then one miraculous night something happens to change the world forever and their stories will never be the same again.

Rachel Kehoe from the Fountain of Life church said: "It is a Christmas musical treasure box, full of festive fun and lots of good sense, all wrapped up in a message of love, cheer and hope."
