Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, had a very shiny nose.
Now as well as guiding Santa on his journey through the skies, the much-loved deer has been spotted on road signs in north Norfolk.
They have been bringing smiles to drivers' faces on the A148 between Fakenham and Holt and the A149 coast road.
Mystery surrounds who might be behind the festive prank. Red noses have also previously appeared on signs warning drivers to beware of deer straying onto roads in Shropshire and as far afield as America and Canada.
Norfolk County Council, which maintains road signs in the county, said: “While it’s nice to have Rudolph visiting Norfolk, we would usually clean off or repair warning signs when needed, as signs such as this help to protect people using our roads and the wildlife that lives nearby.”
While Rudolph and his teammates are usually only seen briefly in the skies above Norfolk on Christmas Eve, the county's burgeoning deer population has seen an increase in collisions involving the animals, sparking warnings to drivers.
