How would you like a kettle that can magically pour any kind of drink you want?

If you think it’s impossible just head to the Cromer Pier Christmas Show.

Seeing illusionist duo Amethyst - Danny Hunt and Stephanie Clarke - demonstrate the device is one of the highlights of this year’s show. Rosé wine for the lady at the back? Here you go. Strawberry milk for the young man on stage? No problem.

It’s an act that had more than a few heads being scratched in what was a typically joyous evening of entertainment, hosted by Christmas show regular Olly Day.

Eastern Daily Press:

Olly’s jokes and banter with the audience never fail to have me in stitches, and it always comes as a bit of a surprise to hear how good his voice is as well.

His singing talent comes to the fore when he plays Scrooge in a pre-interval segment of A Christmas Carol. The piece involves the entire cast - including the six pier show dancers - harking back to an all-dancing vision of Victorian London.

Eastern Daily Press:

Lead vocalist Hayley Moss returns following rave reviews in 2021. Her well-honed voice makes you marvel about how she only started singing in front of crowds by busking on the streets of Norwich in 2016.

Eastern Daily Press:

Joining her for numbers including The Prayer and A Country Christmas is the lead male singer, Ben Killingback. A pier show newbie, Ben’s height and easy confidence give him a stage presence matched by his booming voice.

Eastern Daily Press:

Rounding out the cast is the musician Chloe Edwards-Wood, whose smooth and sentimental tunes on her tenor saxophone are sure to tug on your Christmas heartstrings.

Eastern Daily Press:

Chloe joins Olly and Danny for another show highlight - a prop-laden version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Everything goes wrong with hilarious consequences including flying toilet paper and power short circuits.

A finale evoking a New York Christmas had the audience on their feet, clapping along to more classics.

Eastern Daily Press:

Nothing gets me in the festive spirit as much as heading to the coast for the pier show, and this year’s production is a beaut.
