A heartbreaking tale of animal neglect which saw an "emaciated" dog abandoned in a ditch has had a happy ending.
Gracie the dog, who was dumped in Waxham earlier this year, has found her forever home after making a "miraculous recovery".
The 18-month-old spaniel cross pointer was found with no fur and her bones protruding by a group of friends - including Dean Barron - who were camping back in July.
Gracie was dangerously dehydrated, underweight and "very close to death".
But after being taken into the care of a specialist foster home with Spaniel Assist Rescue and Rehoming and countless vet appointments she was on the mend.
And just over four months since her "traumatic" ordeal, Gracie has been adopted by a new family.
They were chosen by the founder of Spaniel Assist Rescue and Rehoming, Dawn Clough, who received hundreds of applications for Gracie.
She said: "Gracie was signed off at the vets and she was fit and healthy, so we decided it was time for her to find her forever home.
"I put out a post and I was inundated with applications.
"So many people have been invested in Gracie's story - she captured many hearts.
"But in the end, I chose the family who I thought was the perfect home for her. They ticked every box and I got a good feeling as soon as I spoke to them."
Gracie has now moved to her new home in Lincolnshire where she has two doggy siblings.
And Ms Clough said she has settled in well and has even been allowed to sleep on the bed with her new owners.
"Gracie has really landed on her paws," she added
"She has a lot of love coming her way and a very bright future.
"Gracie really has a special place in my heart.
"I cried happy tears when she went off to her new home.
"I also want to give a huge shout-out to her foster parents. They took Gracie when she was a broken dog and they have mended her and worked wonders."
