Part of the A47 was closed following an infrastructure defect to a busy bridge in Great Yarmouth.
Heavy traffic was reported in and around the town on Tuesday (November 22) evening after police and National Highway contractors were called to the incident after 4pm.
Breydon Bridge in Great Yarmouth is currently closed and expected to remain closed for the next few hours. This is because of ongoing work to the bridge. Please avoid the area if you can.

The A47 was closed in both directions between the A149 and A1243 at Gapton Hall due to an infrastructure defect.
Norfolk Constabulary advised the road is expected to be closed for the next few hours and urged people to avoid the area.
Heavy traffic continued to be an issue throughout the evening but began to clear by 8pm.
The bridge had reopened by 9.30pm.
