A man has appeared in court in connection with sexual offences on a woman.
Tenias Mungwari, 46, has been charged with one count of sexual assault on a female by penetration and two counts of sexual assault.
It follows an incident on Sunday, October 30 when a woman, who is aged in her 20s, was approached by a man driving a silver Nissan Qashqai while she was walking along Thorpe Road, near to Lower Clarence Road, at around 1am.
Mungwari, of Sleaford Green, Norwich, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on Saturday (November 12).
Appearing in the dock, wearing a red jumper, he spoke only to confirm his details during the short hearing.
Magistrates decided they did not have sufficient powers to deal with the offences and the case was formally sent to Norwich Crown Court on December 12.
Michael Cole represented Mungwari during the hearing.
Mungwari was remanded in custody until the next hearing at the crown court.
