A village heritage centre has reopened after a period of refurbishment
Shipdham Heritage Centre was back open on Saturday, November 5, incorporating a community library for the first time.
The centre is based in the unused chapel in Shipdham Cemetery, built in 1876 when the cemetery first opened.
After a period as the home of Shipdham's Royal British Legion (RBL) branch and its collection of military memorabilia, it is now a more general community hub.
It contains information about Shipdham's past and present, including Shipdham Airfield, as well as a community library.
Residents can access records relating to Shipdham's past, find information about village groups or borrow books.
Pupils from Thomas Bullock CE Primary Academy and Shipdham Spitfire BP Scouts will regularly display artwork and projects, while other village organisations are welcome to make use of the space.
Opening duties fell to Sam Shelley, vice chairman of the parish council, and Bill Fawcett, chairman of the RBL Shipdham branch.
