People in Norfolk are being warned about doorstep cold callers attempting to trick victims into buying photocopies of artwork.

Norfolk Trading Standards issued the warning after several reports over the weekend in the Diss area about a group of cold callers which are carrying cards stating they are deaf and trying to sell the fake art.

The "hand drawn artwork" they claim to be carrying is said to be often mass-produced images or photocopies.

The group make claims as to what they need the money for which has included "funding their education".

Trading Standards said the approach is a scam with groups targeting an area for a short time before moving on.

People have been urged to never deal with anyone who cold calls at properties offering to sell something.

Anyone who sees the sellers in Norfolk, or are concerned about rogue trader activity in the community, has been urged to report it through Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or via Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
