A man remains in custody after being tracked down by a police helicopter and a dogs unit yesterday.
Officers were called to a crash in Shelfhanger Road in Diss at 4pm on Sunday and enlisted the help of air support to track down the individual who fled the scene.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and causing criminal damage with the car.
He was also arrested for assault and assaulting a police officer during the course of the arrest.
A number of residents in Diss also called police to help assist in the search of the suspect and South Norfolk Police tweeted their thanks to the community after the man was aprehended.
The wrote how this was a 'great exaple of police @NSPolicedogs and community working together.'
