Question. What's as long as the Carrow Road pitch, took several months to create and will now help raise money for charity?

The answer is this huge Norwich City scarf measuring 114 yards, which was handed over to former Canary striker Dean Ashton prior to being used to help raise money for charity.

The over 55s group, known as Extra Timers, made the scarf in aid of the Sporting Light Appeal, which raises money to enable disabled people to play sport.

The group visits Carrow Road every Wednesday morning for an hour of sport and then an hour of socialising, as part of Norwich City Community Sports Foundation. Dan Wynne, the foundation's communications support officer, said the scarf would be unveiled at a home game at a later date.

The wool for the scarf was donated by Hobbeycraft, at the Riverside retail park in Norwich, whose manager Dan Mortimer said: 'We were happy to help when we were asked.

'I think we donated a total of 80 balls of each colour – yellow and green – for the scarf.'

It will eventually be made into smaller scarfs, signed by Norwich players, and auctioned off to fans.
