A 55-year-old woman was crushed between two cars in an accident on the approach to the Marks and Spencer car park in Lowestoft at about noon today.
The victim was sedated by paramedics and flown by the East Anglian Air Ambulance to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Her condition was stable but the extent of her injuries was being assessed at the hospital.
Part of Battery Green Road was closed for the arrival of the air ambulance.
Appealing for witnesses, a Suffolk police spokesman said their initial reports were that the victim had suffered leg, pelvic and possibly spinal injuries.
It is understood that the driver of a car involved in the accident was treated by an ambulance crew.
