A MAN died last night following an accident on the A47 between Wisbech and Thorney.
Emergency services were called just before 5pm after the accident which involved two cars and a lorry.
Magpas Helimedix air ambulance was called and treated the man who had suffered what doctors described as a 'traumatic cardiac arrest'.
A Magpas spokesman said: 'Our team provided him with advanced life support whilst working alongside an East of England Ambulance Service crew.
'Sadly despite all their best efforts the patient was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time,'
Magpas and ambulance crews also dealt with a second patient at the scene but his injuries were described as minor.
The Magpas spokesman added: 'Dr Nick Foster would like to thank the ambulance crews and police for all their help.
'The police were first on the scene and initiated CPR for the main patient which was on-going when the Helimedix team arrived.'
