Norwich Philharmonic Society is tuning up for a new season of musical masterpieces.
It is the second year the society has been sponsored by Norfolk law firm Hansells Solicitors and Financial Advisers, and Norwich Philharmonic's forthcoming season will begin with a performance of Britten's War Requiem featuring 300 performers at St Andrew's Hall, in Norwich, on November 9. There will be another performance of War Requiem in Norwich's twin city of Koblenz on November 22, the date of Britten's birth, when members of the choir will join with the Musik Institut and the Rheinische Philharmonie.
Norwich Philharmonic's 2013-14 concert series also features Brahm's First Symphony, a rarely heard overture by Elgar and Norwich Philharmonic's perennially popular Family Christmas, where the choir is joined by brass ensemble Norfolk Brass. The season finale is an American Night on March 22.
