The death of a Wisbech man whose body was pulled from the river Nene on Saturday is not being treated as suspicious, police said today.
Andy Lee's family had earlier offered a £2,000 reward to find their missing father who had not been sent for five days.
Mr Lee, 64, of Wisbech, went missing on August 31 and his family launched an appeal to find him.
The family said they had been very worried about his welfare after he left his flat and was not seen or heard of again. He left home without any personal effects.
His grief stricken family are being offered comfort by Mr Lee's friends who offered their prayers and support.
'Rest in peace Andy,' said one friend. 'I only just got to say thank you for looking after my dad when he had his heart attack.
'I'm sure he'll be waiting for you with a beer and a smile. God bless mate.'
Another friend posted to Facebook: 'My dear dear friend, what we are we going without your dry sense of humour? Always making me laugh, we loved you so much. A very special friend. I am going to miss you.'
Police recovered the body from the Nene near to Wisbech police station shortly after lunchtime on Saturday.
'We were called to reports of a body in the River Nene near Freedom Bridge at about 12pm on Saturday,' said a police spokesman.
'The death is not being treated as suspicious and has been passed to the coroner.'
