Running until September 20 at St Margaret's Church Gallery in St Benedict's Street, the free annual event has become one of the best-loved and largest independent selling shows in East Anglia.

This year it features 29 printmakers, both firm favourites and new artists, displaying a wide variety of hand-made print techniques.

Sarah Bays, one of the exhibitors, said: 'It started off in 1995 with eight printmakers and now there are over 50, with about 30 usually taking part each year. There really is something for everyone, there is such a wide variety on offer.'

On Saturday, September 13 and Saturday, September 20, all artists will be at the fair, displaying extra work, sketchbooks and printing plates to show their varying techniques.

They are all happy to answer questions about their work - no matter how technical.

Sunday, September 14 will see the printmakers in action, offering a rare chance for members of the public to watch artists at work.

Mrs Bays said: 'People can discover how the various plates are made and printed, from screenprints to linocuts, mezzotints, etchings and collographs. With the chance to see prints emerging from the presses, this day is a real treat.'

Throughout the exhibition, the Norwich Print Fair will be running its Mini Print raffle - with tickets priced at £1 for the chance to win specially-created works by the artists.

The draw takes place on Saturday, September 20.

The Norwich Print Fair starts on Monday and runs until Saturday, September 20, from 10am until 5pm Monday to Saturday.

Printmakers in Action will be held on Sunday, September 14 from 11am until 4pm. Admission is free.
