The new organisers of a popular Christmas tree festival in Fakenham say they are determined to carry on its success after its well-loved founder stepped down.
The Fakenham Christmas Tree Festival, held at Fakenham Parish Church, brings thousands to the town each year and has raised more than £250,000 for charity since 2001.
It sees charities and organisation set up trees - donated by Fakenham Garden Centre - in the church, with visitors donating to causes of their choice.
Founded by former rector of Fakenham Rev Adrian Bell 14 years go, the mantel was handled to the new committee after Mr Bell retired and moved to Swaffham in June.
Alison Harding, church warden and one of the committee members, said: 'We are determined to carry on the show as it has always been. It is a very special thing to see and has raised so much for charity.
'I think the event started off having just 30 trees, but it has grown so much every year.
'We have had to learn things as we go, but Adrian was able to help us until he retired and things have gone well.'
It is hoped that this year's festival, which will see 71 charities illuminate the church, will break the record of £39,000 raised for charity.
It was set at last year's event, beating the previous record of £38,000.
Proceeds from refreshments and a tombola will be donated to the church.
The festival will run from Thursday 27 to December 4. It will be open from 10am to 8pm each day, except Sunday when it will open at noon.
There will be a festival service on Sunday, November 30 at 10.30am.
