For the first time in many years the annual pancake race was held in Halesworth's historic Market Place.
Organised by Polly Webb, of Tilly's Restaurant, the event proved extremely popular and 12 teams representing shops and businesses in the north Suffolk market town took part.
There were two races of six teams, with the top three in each race going forward to contest the final.
After a close-fought final around a tricky course the winners were the team representing Hair By Roger – Philip Mills, Isabella Gonzales and Amelia Gonzales.
The races attracted a large crowd and one interested spectator was Maureen LeGrys who had taken part in a similar race in the 1960s.
Ms Webb said: 'We have had so much fun and we would like to thank everyone for their support. The races have raised in the region of £100 which will be donated to Halesworth Volunteer Centre.'
It is now hoped that the Shrove Tuesday pancake races will once again become an annual attraction in the town.
