Radio novices young and old are taking control of the Pop, Corn and Grace 87.7FM station, which started today and finishes this Friday, at Aylsham Parish Church.

It is the second year the pop up station has been running and is being aired across a 20 mile radius from Aylsham, as well as being streamed live across the internet using the church's WiSpire wireless technology.

Ideas and production are being led by 12 teenagers aged 12-17 and eight adults, all from the Ingworth Deanery area.

The radio station was hosted at St Edward's Community Church, Badersfield - where RAF Coltishall used to be based - last year.

Canon Andrew Beane, vicar of Aylsham, said: 'It is an exciting way of how to use the church - especially during Open Churches Week. It is a creative way of getting the church to reach out to people.

'This radio programme is also a way of linking together the different churches.'

This year's theme is One Voice and listeners and presenters have been talking about inspirational people whose voices have helped change individuals' worlds. These people have not all been famous and have included family members or community figures.

Radio programmes will include reports on art workshops from churches surrounding Aylsham, a variety of music from the decades and discussions between older and younger generations.

Programme editor Kandi Kammoun, from Buxton, said: 'All of us are learning new skills.'
