A popular two-week festival celebrating literature, poetry, drama and music will once again return to Wymondham.

The sixth Wymondham Words Festival will entertain audiences at venues across the town and in surrounding villages from Thursday, October 8 to Wednesday 21.

This year's diverse line-up includes a celebration of Jane Austen, a poetry supper, a literary lunch, talks from award-winning writers and children's events.

Moniza Alvi, co-director of the festival, said: 'We are delighted to announce an expanded festival spread over two weeks and taking place in a variety of fine venues in the town.

'We are also heading out of town for an eagerly anticipated event in the elegant setting of Kimberley Hall, where actor Hannah Lee will feature in a costumed performance of Jane Austen at Home, a celebration of Jane Austen's writing, wit and wisdom.'

The event will take place at Kimerbley Hall on Tuesday, October 13 at 7.30pm.

The fortnight will also see Guardian journalist and nature writer Patrick Barkham speaking about his latest book, Coastlines, as well as an evening with author Rory Clements and a literary lunch with Norfolk biographers and poets Ann and Anthony Thwaite.

Children's events will include Prehistoric Monsters Come Alive, led by author Steve Parker, and Family Film Club.

Mrs Alvi encouraged people to visit the festival, adding: 'Do come along to enjoy these very special events with authors and performers from East Anglia and beyond. We can guarantee this year's festival will be a feast of words.'

Tickets are available for the events from Kett's Books, on Whartons Court, and The Book Hive, at 53 London Street in Norwich.
