Villagers' frustration is growing over a pong which they say is coming from the Anglian Water treatment plant in Caister.
Concerns were initially raised about the smell, which has been an ongoing issue during the last few years, in August for residents of both Caister and north Yarmouth.
In a statement released at the time Anglian Water admitted there had been a problem with the treatment system.
This 'resulted in higher than normal odour levels around the site.'
The statement ended by saying the issues had been solved and odour levels would be back to normal.
However, Caister man Norman Balls says the rich aroma soon returned and it is stronger than ever.
He said: 'We live no more than half a mile away from the plant and the smell is just terrible.
'It is pretty much all day, every day at the moment.
'And it can all change depending on the direction of the wind.
'It was even worse during the summer months because you couldn't really sit outside and enjoy a barbecue or anything.
'We did have a brief period where they seemed to have fixed the issue but it has come back even worse.
'Something needs to be done.'
Mr Balls has been in regular contact with Great Yarmouth Borough Council's environmental health department over the matter.
And he has also spoken with MP for Great Yarmouth Brandon Lewis to try and drum up support for something to be done.
In an email seen by the EDP, which was sent to Mr Lewis by Anglian Water, the company said it had received no complaints about the smell in recent months.
The email read: 'I am sorry that Mr Balls feels there has been an increase in odours from Caister water recycling centre.
'But we have received no complaints in recent months.
'Therefore, should Mr Balls or any other of our customers feel unhappy with the odours coming from the site, I would urge him to call us on 03457 145145.'
