Among the activities on Tuesday will be an all-night Advent Sleepout Challenge where people are encouraged to join the Dean of Norwich and other members of the cathedral community in spending the night in the cloisters to raise awareness of homelessness and money for the Church Urban Fund. Earlier in the night the cathedral will host a free open evening, which will include the blessing of the cathedral's outdoor crib scene and remembrance trees at 7pm. There will be the chance to hang stars on the memory trees to remember loved ones, and the cathedral will be open until 9pm with free guided tours at 7.30pm and 8pm.

Other events in December include a Christmas with Norwich Cathedral Choir concert on December 11 and Handel's Messiah by Candlelight with Norwich Cathedral Chamber Choir and Norwich Baroque on December 19. Services include: the Christingle Service on December 12; Christmas Procession with Carols on December 20; Christmas Eve services including a Crib Service and Midnight Eucharist of Christmas; and Christmas Day services including Festal Evensong, Procession and Carols.
