After two defeats in their last two games, including a heartbreaking 4-3 injury-time loss against Redbridge last Saturday, Wroxham meet another team in the drop-zone, writes Adrian Gowling.
A visit to Waltham Abbey, who sit in 23rd place just three points behind the Yachtsmen, await the Broadland side this afternoon. It is a chance for Wroxham to 'do the double' as the home side's Jack Garrod goal was enough during a 1-0 victory in Norfolk last September
Having been 3-2 ahead going into stoppage time at the weekend, interim manager Chris Wigger thought that Wroxham had gained their first league win since October.
Unfortunately for the former Cromer boss, the Yachtsmen capitulated and conceded two goals to have victory snatched away from their grasp. Wigger reacted by describing it as 'feeling like he'd been kicked in the guts'.
On Tuesday night there was a further game against Heybridge Swifts, another side around the relegation zone, which resulted in a close 1-0 defeat and the continuation of the poor run. Despite playing well and having several chances, the Yachtsmen were unable to get the ball past the resilient Swifts backline.
Wroxham's cause wasn't helped by full-back Jackson Ramm's fourth red card of the season after his second caution of the night. Having served a six-match ban for his last sending off, the former King's Lynn Town defender looks likely to receive a lengthy ban when the league communicates its punishment.
Wigger remains in charge for today's trip to North London as the search for a permanent manager continues. Chairman Kevin Attree confirmed that the club are still talking to a number of potential candidates and wanted to make sure that the best man for the job was appointed to turn their current situation around.
